Made my first post last week: bemoaning the fact that I couldn't re-activate a second hand copy of TomTom Navigator 3. Anyway, after much fretting, contacted the seller who was more than understanding - and am now awaiting my refund.
Following this dilemna, I've learnt my lesson: buy NEW! Just wondered if any of you could offer advice.
I have an ipaq 2210 so was going to go for TomTom 3 Bluetooth and an Arkon powered mount (Is a dashboard mount the best?) I have a Citreon Picasso (with the windscreen 'problems'!) and saw Mark's set up in the Readers' Mounts section. Is this a major problem? Would I be able to put my bluetooth receiver on the rear parcel shelf? If so, would I still need to purchase a remote antenna? Are these easy to fit? Would I then get decent reception?
A lot of questions, I realise, but following the initial mistake I mad, buying second hand, I want to do it right this time. Reports of possible problems with (a) the ipaq 2210 with TomTom and (b) TomTom and my Citreon pertly leave me wondering whether I might be letting myself in for a load of 'grief'...Would the rest of you still recommend I go ahead with my purchase? Is it worth the possible hassle? |

The problem with the TomTom bundle is the TomTOm BT receiver. It's not the most stable hardware around... Apart from that the placement on the parcel shelf should be working fine - there may be slight interferences with the window heating, but to a far lesser degree than with the coating.
If you could get a TomTom Navigator bundled with a different receiver - that would be optimal. _________________ Lutz

I certainly have my BT GPS velcroed under the parcel shelf in my Picasso - it held sats pretty well, but adding the external antenna improved that markedly (from average 5-6 to average 9-10) and it hold fix where previously it didn't. |

Is the external antenna easy to install, Hunnymonster, as I'm no DIY wizard - and is there a particular brand you'd recommend? |
