Having bitten the bullet and ordered copilot smartphone + GPS I've just noticed in the polls about bluetooth GPS dying.

I had intended to leave the GPS in the car attached to the power the same as I have with my Leadtek 9532. Is that not a good idea?

that should work. Even better if you can physically disconnect the battery. Or remove it, as with the Leatek.

I got the above package on Friday, used for about 1 hour out of the box, low battery light came on. Charged for about 1 hour in car (package only comes with car charger), and has lasted on battery since then, approx 5hrs of driving. I intend only to plug into car charger as and when the battery dies.
