TomTom POI Icons

I'm in map view and click add POI - i then select what type it is (such as speed camera) give it a name and click ok - i get the default icon now showing - how do i change it to make it the same icon as the rest of that group ?

Make sure its in the same TYPE class as the rest of the speed cams.
For instance, if you have a type of POI group alled UK_Speed_Cam.ov2 then it will use the bitmap of the same name to display the location.
Any new POI added to that group will also be assigned the relevant icon for that group.
If you make a new group type such as nuclear research facilities (lets call it NRF) then to assign a unique icon to that POI group type, make a 22 x 22 pixel square 256 colour bitmap, call it NRF.bmp and import it from your PC into the pda folder where your tomtom maps reside (generally GB_Maps on your SD card).

One other point is that TomTom will suddenly put _ underscore characters replacing spaces. this then makes 2 POI files seem the same, but have different file names. If when you look at your storecard there are two files one with xxx_yyy.ov2 and one xxx yyy.ov2 just copy yhe bmp file to the new file name and they will displaqy correctly.
