I notice on the TomTom site that they have some alternate voices for TomTom.

Some of the voices were done by "enthusiastic users" so it says.

Does anyone here know how to do this? I think it would be nice to hear a voice that I know giving me directions.

Also I read that you can only have 20 favorites on TomTom. Is this true? I am "upgrading" from a StreetPilotIII and I can have 500 waypoints on there. 20 doesn't seem many at all. (I presume "Favorites" are the same as Waypoints?)

Thanks

For an amateurish solution simply use the Windows Sound Recorder.

For a slightly more professional approach go to one of the speech synthesizing sites on the web that produce WAV output

For a real professional solution ask your friend in the high tech sound studio (the one with the pleasant voice) to record them for you.

Waypoints is where you have been. Favourites is where you may want to go to. Slightly different concept.

Thanks, but I actually meant "How does one get the recorded voice files into TomTom so they are useable in the program".

somewhere on your palm should be a directory with the wav files. simply copy the ones you want over the existing ones (as you may have guessed I don't have a Palm to verify that...)
