I want to use my iPaq 4155 as a GPS solution for my Ford Explorer.
I really like the TomTom mount since it has a custom fit cradle and no wires to plug in/out.

My Questions:

1) Should I get a bluetooth gps unit or just a wired serial one? (I dont plan on using it in any other vehicle or outside of a vehicle.)

2) What are the advantages to bluetooth vs serial?

3) Does the cradle keep the GPS powered on even with out the iPaq or my truck being on to eliminate "time to first fix"? (assuming the cigarette lighter has power at all times)

4) Does the TomTom GPS allow use of any GPS software on the PocketPC?

5) How loud/clear is the speaker for voice directions?

1) Given your situation I would suggest you go with the serial receiver. It's less hassle
2) you can take it out of the car, and you can place it soewhere else than the front windscreen (if that's coated, for example)
3) yes
4) yes, but you may need to use the TomTom GPS driver 2.07 . Other GPS drivers are known to block COM ports on the Pocket PC.
5) Speaker's not too great on these devices. Think about an FM transmitter...

I could be wrong but I believe these are illegal in the UK.
