I had a problem with the mount supplied with my TTG.
It had an obvious design fault, which resulted in the vertical axis adjusment, having insufficient clampling force to hole the unit steady.
TomTom delt with the fault promptly and supplied a repalcement (modified) mount.
Check yours to see if the vertical axis adjustment, has an indentical surface beneath each thunbscrew. If so all is well, if yours has a round flat surface under one screw, and a hexagonal void under the other, then look out.

I am having this problem; TomTom is sending a new mount. I can see the hex void (something missing?), but the other screw does not come off on my mount.

A little DIY is needed,

1. You could use two thin plastic or rubber washers where the surfaces meet, to give extra grip.

2. You could use double sided sticky tape, cut a couple of small squares, and attatch to the surface.

3. You could go into an office supplies, and get some ring-binder strengtheners, "small cardboard washers, with hole in middle".

4. Use two thin spring washers

5. You could also use serrated type washers , ( the type on washing machines that hold screws tight ) not sure of proper name. When you use these they "bite" into the plastic, and stop it slipping

I've done this for quite a few people, and it don't budge.

I sent my old mount back and recieved the new one today.

The actual mount now has some rubber on the bottom, so if it's resting on the dash you get no more squeaks.

The screwthreads on both sides now both work (previously the one on the left was a dummy that usually fell off). The mount also doesn't droop when you put the TTG on - it's held with a serrated thread that locks it into place without you needing to screw it super-tight.

Great service, just sent in an email, sent my mount back at their expense and a new one turned up.

Dodgy,

How long did it take them to turn it around?

Just under a couple of weeks I think (from when I sent it).
