Has anyone had the call back from ALK direct when they are upgrading? I received an error message on the ALK website when I coimpleted the on-line form, but it came up alls well after I cleared the error message. I did the form again on Saturday and all appeared to go well. However, haven't heard from them to alow me to pay.
I've no patience! |

They're pretty busy (obviously) with people wanting to purchase and upgrade. If you haven't heard either later tomorrow/wed, I'd give them a call. |

Me neither, I'm still waiting for something from Amazon. Had to wait 3 days for it to be delivered (far too long-wish there was a Special Delivery Next Day service). Arrived, worked for 30 mins, then died. Had to send it back, Amazon agreed to send a replacement out before the dead unit came back. Been waiting 3 working days, and it still hasn't arrived (or been despatched).
I do sympathise with you. I'm an impatient guy too! |

I had a different experience. As recommended by ALK, I did go to the site and fill up the form. No response.
What I then did, was to call them at their support / customer services number. Someone picked up the call and immediately took down my details and I had the s/w the next day.
So, it may be useful to call them up.

I purchased Co-pilot 4 last month and so am elegible for the free upgrade. I called ALK customer services last week and they accepted my application for an upgrade to version 5 and said it would be with me by the end of last week.
This morning, after still not receiving anything, I called customer services and was told that they were still waiting for the correct disks to arrive from their CD pressers because the first batch that they received were wrong.
Does that mean that the disks that you guys have received are faulty and will be recalled or am I being fobbed off. |

The two disks I received (application and maps) were labelled incorrectly - I put the one labelled "application" in first and it only had the maps on it. Boy was I relieved when the one labelled "maps" had the application on it! That's probably what they are fixing.

I have purchased the full product and my cd's were also labled incorrectly.
Looks like the entire batcwas faulty, not sure why they can be sent out as they are, but with a little note in explaining this asking the user to ignore the labeling.
At least this way everyone would get the product they were waiting for. _________________ Please follow me on twitter @mdyson1968 |

Except for me.
I'll just have to wait a couple more days hopefully.
I have no patience when it comes to getting new toys. |

Likewise.
I have been known to travel miles to make sure I get my new you that day, rather that waiting for the post the following morning!!

Recieved mine on monday. Didn't notice the disk label till after I installed it all as I tend to view the contents first, then just used the one with Autorun on.
I wouldn't think that they will re-issue the disks just because of the label as the software installs and runs ok. _________________ Graham.

I got my CDs yesterday for V5. As mentioned earlier, it took them 1 day to send it.
One CD was labelled "Application Disk Europe" and the other "Map Disc Europe" and the contents were corrects. So no issue with the labels!!! What shook me a bit was that I had ordered the Uk version. On closer scrutiny, I saw that the product key was only for Uk and Ireland.
Set it up last night and has been working like a dream!!

I've just got off the phone to ALK, and they have sent my upgrade for delivery tomorrow. :D
They also confirmed that the problem with their disks was the incorrect labelling. |

After having not received a telephone call from ALK, I did as Dave advised and telephoned them this morning. I phoned at 8.30am, which I realise now is 30 mins before they were due to open. The person who answered was superb - extremely helpful and happy for that time of the morning, even though he told me that he had only arrived at work a minute before.
It is amazing how good and friendly customer service meant that I hardly noticed I was parting with over £100.
Thanks and well done. |

The postman has been and gone but no sign of the package.
Do ALK use royal mail or a courier? |
