Hallo Didi
thanks for the link. Is it possible to give our english speaking audience a short introduction to your site (or maybe even have an english page?)
Vielen Dank im Voraus, Servus _________________ Lutz

dIdI,
I'm not sure how to use your skin. I downloaded it but can't import it into Skin editor. I don't speak German but I think I may need Miniinis program which I can't find

u need for installation mini4inis ...
the probleme is, the maker of this tool is in conflict with the germanspeaking forum and no download is possible in the moment.
you can't import my skin to the skin-editor of navigon. navigon's skin-editor is only a coulor-changer, my skin changes much more.
I'm working on a new relase of my skin (without a need of mini4inis). the new version will be online in few days.

I think part of the issue is actually that the admins at powerspeicher.de have installed new forum software and it's broken all of the old links.... if anyone wants a copy of Mini4inis in the interim, PM me an email address and I'll send you a copy by email. |

Powerspeicher make a new forum, the administrator of this forum will be suppengrünn (the maker of mini4inis).
Pocketnavigation (the big german navigationforum) is no longer allowed to offer mini4inis. So all mini4inis files on the pocketnavigationserver are deleted.
I was able to find a new link to mini4inis at gpspassion.com (francais).
Mini4inis is avaible in german and in french.
You also could download mini4inis at my homepage (www.dIdI-Skin.at.tt)

Managed to download this - have to register with site first. Then lots of typing into google translator to see what the menu options meant. After looking at lots of skins I think I'll stick with the standard one. The system became a bit unstable too so I restored my entire navigon folder from a backup I'd made on the memory card. I would recommend doing this if you are going to try mini4ini.
What I would like is to persuade it to show the wee diagram of the next turn earlier (like TomTom does). Do any of our clever German friends know if this is adjustable in an ini file?
I'd also like the speed to be bigger and drop some of the other info.

Hiya,
I wonder if anyone can help me? I have a copy of mini4inis 2.1 which allows changes to the level0.mdl, basically the way the maps lay out, or so I am led to understand.
I use an e800 in VGA mode as I want large area detail from the maps, and thats all working OK, but you can imagine in VGA mode the street names are pretty small, especially when in the car about a foot and a half from your eyes.
On gpspassion and pocketnavigation.de I can see lots of french and german conversation happening, and using my trusty translator I can get the grasp of most of it. However, no one appears to talk about changing font sizes in the maps to make them bigger during driving.
Has anyone here figured it out?
Equally, will mini4inis work correctly on a UK installed PDA, using UK MN4, as it is all in German.
Thanks for any help/advice you can offer. |

Mini4inis seems to work just fine with a PDA set to US or UK English - it's just all working out what all of the labels actually mean that I find the hardest - because our German colleagues are so fond of joining words together (in standard ways) and then abbreviating the resulting word (again in a standard way) - and Google Translator & Babelfish aren't au fait with those actions - at least not fully - and a Collins Pocket Gem German-English dictionary doesn't have a clue either
Took me a while to realise that BAB is a Bundesautobahn (or a motorway to you and me), the graphic suggested it was the case, but always nice to get a confirmation. |

Thanks. :D BUT I still cannot get it all to work , I must be doing something wrong.
I can make changes to the file M4ilevelzero.txt which is supposed to change the level0.mpl file of the MN4 program, but my changes never seem to have any effects. e.g as a tester I changed the colour of "BAB" or motorways to red, bit it still stays yellow. So I changed all roads to red but nothing changed.
I am venturing on to the german forums to try and find a guy called "Hirni" who apparently writes layouts et al to see if he can help.
God, I wish Star Treks "universal translator" would hurry up and be invented. |
