Reading the descriptions of the dim red light issue this is the same as my experience.

Worked fine for 3 days and now nothing.

All utils (gpsinfo, winfast navigator sirftweak etc) all connect fine to GPS and the comms light comes on (dimly) but no NMEA data stream.

I went for the Hong Kong ebay source as he seemd to be selling so many.

I tried factory reset in navigator but cannot sove the problem.

Is there any other way to "reset" a CF GPS card.

Just does not seem any logocal reason for this but clearly this is a common problem

Thanks for any advise.

PS

I have tried to contact seller but so far no reply

Your BC-307 now in SiRF mode.

Use "Leadtek GPS Monitor" to set NMEA mode.

Or leave GPS for a week, it will be reseted.

I have had exactly the same problem. I tried all the usual suspects - flattening the 'battery' and various utilities to do a 'factory' reset etc., all to no effect.
Having had it working I was hooked on GPS, so I was about to give up hope and buy a replacement (the unit was only 4 months old, but the Hong Kong seller on eBay did not reply), when I gave Winfast Navigator a go - and it worked! :D
As others have said, it appears these units can get stuck in Sirf mode (I use it with TomTom).
I don't believe the 'dim LED' is a hardware fault, so keep trying...

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried winfast navigotor and done "factory reset" at least 50 times in 4 days not to mention 100s of cold restarts.

Tried it on 4 other PDAs and exactly the same on all of them.

could you mail me the version of navigator you got to work?

Can you remember exactly how you got it to "reset"

thanks for all your trouble.

Phil.
