Anyone using Bluetooth GPS with Infomap ?

I recently purchased a Globalsat BT308 bluetooth GPS off Ebay which I had planned to use with Infomap Navigator 1.3.12 (not latest version 4).

The problem I am experiencing is that Infomap very frequently reports no signal from the selected port at which points it disconnects the bluetooth link with the receiver - it is then a time consuming process to re-establish the connection and get the program receiving GPS again. It does not seem directly related to the no of satelites it is seeing as it has lost signal when it has only just reported 6 for instance.

I am not entirely sure wether this is a problem with Infomap or the GPS unit, it's as if when Infomap stops receiving a GPS signal its because the GPS unit isn't transmitting any data which I'm sure should not be the case.

I have used the same program with a USB GPS unit and it never gave a problem.

I'm trying to use it with XP and MSI BToes dongle as recommended on this site, but have tried another machine running Win 2000 - still same problem.

If anyone can offer any advice at all or let me know if you are using a bluetooth device successfully I would be extremely grateful.
