Am using 303e with tom tom 3 and a 2210. Have set gps to NMEA 0183v2 4800 CF_CARD GENERIC. This works after a while but is very hit and miss i have to intsert the card take it out, reinsert maybe do a soft reset before this is picked up. Is there a straightforward works first time method anyone knows of? _________________ Chigwa

Once connected i dont have a problem - the issue is when i insert into cf slot - the red light on 303 flashes twice then nothing. I have to keep reinserting and starting tom tom to eventually get it working. Seems the gps doesnt pick up the cf card straight away. _________________ Chigwa

I put the card in and it flashes. I then run Tom Tom GPS the card flashes twice and that is it. Sometimes the card will continuous flash then i have a fix and it works fine. I have hard reset ipaq and reinstalled tomtom still no joy.
Beginning to think card maybe faulty! Any ideas anyone? _________________ Chigwa

Have you tried setting the TomTom GPS setting to 'Haicom' - I have a 2210 and 303E and this works for me |

See my other posts for trials and tribulations with the HI-302E http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=10318
Just reset it using GPS Information program to com7 from default com4 but no apparant joy. Then done a soft reset and low and behold opening tom-tom gps program and its working..About 4 mins to get a fix.
So it would appear in my case as the iPaq 2210 is set up for the tom-tom serial gps (with car kit) I need to set it up for NMEA 0183v2 4800 and CF_Card generic, then soft reset to get it working.. Not ideal, but manageable... Brought it inside no gps signal and lights on side of 302 gone out...remove gps and reinsert and its working without the soft reset this time..ah well just got to get it working with Navigator(CE) now. |

Hi seen the replies regarding the H2210 and Haicom 303e.
I'm having the same problem.
What I have isolated is that the GPS unit does not power up when in the CF slot all the time.
I have to go into tomtom gps setting and change between haicom and NMEA 0183v2 4800.
When it work it works fine and stays locked., But it getting the thing to power up. tomtom from what I understand is suppose to power the unit up but thats not the case each time.
have tried everything possible.
I have also noticed that if I open the mouse up (still slotted in the cf port) so it is fully open the led flashes.
this may indicate that the connections are a bit poor.
Can anybody suggest what the unit is so temperamental when trying to power it up?
All suggestions welcome (nearly went out of the window yesterday)
Cheers |

one thing to avoid is the haicom gps setting in tomtom - it is for the sirf based chipsets not the Evermore ones-
stick to the NMEA 0183v2 4800.
Can't sugest anything else as I only ever use my unit with the bt slipper and have no problems with it.
