I have purchased the Fortuna clip on and have been very pleased with its performance.

The major selling point for me was the ability to change between the two chip formats. This is very usfull if you are driving through areas when you have limited access to the sky.

I requlary receive a strong signal between 8 and 10, in a Citroen Picasso.

thanks Mark
- I was siding with the fortuna myself especially with the review saying that the fortuna clip works with nokia mobile phone batteries too !

Not many people sell it though, i am trawling through the sites right now trying to find someone selling it, where did you purchase yours? how much did it cost?

regards

Hi

I purchased mine from Global Positioning Systems. They are selling for £114.85.

I have both the tomtom and the fortuna clip on. I find the tomtom captures more GPS signals whilst I am in the car, why I have no idea. The clip on I like as it last longer battery wise and I tend to use this whilst I am walking around. Also the XT mode seems better suited for this, as it captures signals almost everywhere including inside.

Basically, if its just for in the car, I'd go with the tomtom. You get a nice magnetic holder for it, and if you have the tomtom car cradle (or several oher also work I am told), then you can charge your 2210 and GPS receiver at the same time (I don't have the right cable for the clip on so am not sure if this can be done).

If you want to use in and out of car, then go for the clip on.

I got my clip on over ebay from a german retailer "ebay@dealcat.de"
I bid for loads of them till I got one cheap.

Loads of folk use the clip on in the car with no problems (I use it in the car sometimes as well...when I forget the TT !). Anyway, you may want to invest in a little bit of velcro, so you can put it on your dashboard and attach to the clip on to avoid it sliding around.....unless someone has a better idea ?
