Hii, i an HP Ipaq 4150 and a Fortuna Clip-on GPS unit. Can anyone tell me of any software out there, at all, that will work with these devices? i already have Tomtom and it's great, but every single other piece of software out there, like GPS Tuner, GPSDash, Vito Navigator and where ami does not work, either because of the com ports being 6 and 8, or some other reason i've not yet established. Can anyone post a list of any other software they oue with similar devices to those above, apart from Tomtom. I'm not really bothered what it's like, i'm just looking for basic function like speed, compass and altitude etc.

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

All of the mentioned software works with the BT receiver. Most probably you have the receiver set to SiRF protocol. Set it back to NMEA 38400 and you're in business...

the same place where you changed it to SiRF in the first place. What config tool were you using?

the only thing i can change that type of setting on it the Tomtom GPS screen, i dont have any other software with it. Is there like a driver other than the one that comes with Tomtom, that i need to get. Every other program reports an error 55, or is unable to open the port

Ah, dang, I was on the wrong track. You are using a TomTom GPS driver that's blocking the BT stack. Please completely remove the TomTom GPS component, do a soft reset, and then re-install the GPS version 2.07 or 3.03 (but not anything in between)

Ahhhhhhh,, yes, thats it. When i removed the Tomtom GPS, everything else worked and the com port 6 was visable again. However, after re-installing Tomtom and running the 3.03 update (mentioned above) the same thing re-occurs. does anyone know how to fix this? or is a question for Tomtom tech support?

:D your a star sir!!! One thing that might be worth pointing out for anyone esle trying to do this is that you have to go to add/remove programs and remove the version 3.X Tomtom GPS part before installing the 2.07 version. If you try to re-install the thing over the top, when you restart the Ipaq the whole thing locks up and you have to remove the bettery and do a hard reset, wiping everything (yes, it happenend to me :-( ). Thanks very much for your help with this problem me friend!

If you follow these instructions then there is no lock-up and no need for a hard reset.

I'm also struggling with this. I have the bluetooth TT3 (with the traffic update) running on an O2 Xda-II.

I recently bought GPSdash & had to go back to the 2.07 driver to get it to work. Now, however, I can't get TT Navigator to work!

I did all the things described in the forum (remove the driver, soft reset etc.) but to no avail.

What setup should I use in the v2.07 driver so that TT Navigator works? I tried many things including selecting TomTom Wireless + BT com port (sorry can't remember which serial port that is) - nothing works so far.

Starting-up GPSdash initiates the BT link OK (blue light goes continuous on the TT unit) but starting up TT Navigator (with v2.07) won't start the BT link (it worked fine with the original v3.03).

If I run GPSDash (which starts BT) & then quit the BT link stays up. However, if I then run TT3 it won't see the TT unit at all.

Somewhere in the forums it says that GPS driver v3.03 doesn't block the com ports. Is that really true? In any case, can I get that separately from somewhere (it's not on this website I notice) so that I don't have to reinstall everything?

Regards, Kevin

It depends on the hardware (PDA) you have. If you have a 2210 then 3.03 is fine. If you have a 4150 then you lose the com port and you have to revert to 2.07

It's neither (AFAIK!) - it's an O2 Xda-II smartphone (see: http://www.my-xda.com). - Regards, Kevin

if you are in doubt as to what setting is best - revert to the plain old "Bluetooth COM port x"(your port here) and "NMEA 2.0 Standard 38400"

If that doesn't work then your receiver is broken or set to SiRF.

That setting doesn't work.

It's not broken - if I reinstall the full TT3.03 (with Traffic) it works fine.

But then it can't see GPSdash anymore Evil or Very Mad
