Hi All, I recently acquired a HP Ipaq 4150 and a Fortuna clip-on GPS unit. Whist I’m happy driving everywhere with Tom-tom blurting out where I should be going, the other GPS software that’s out the (like Where am I) wont connect to the GPS even though the connection details are correct. I would assume from this, that this software was designed for wired or CF card GPS units only, even though the BT driver should relay the information when you configure port in the software setup. Going slightly round the houses, does any know of some basic GPS software that will work on BT and display basic stuff like compass reading, altitude, etc sort of like the software GPSDash, or can some point out something I may have overlooked when trying to configure the ports.

Most software will work with a BT receiver.
you have overlooked the fact that TomTom GPS is a bad, bad boy (versions 2.08 to 3.02) and is blocking the BT stack from serving any other program. Make sure your TomTom GPS driver is version 2.07 or 3.03+
In any case you can only connect one program at a time to the BT receiver (unless the receiver is a Emtac Trine which allows multiple concurrent connections (but this only means you can connect multiple Pocket PCs to the same receiver, not multiple programs on the same Pocket PC) )
Have a look at GPSgate - that's a software that splits the signal to multiple virtual ports. _________________ Lutz
yes, i've had a look at that software before, but i can't get it to display com port 6 used by BT, i can only get 1,2,3,5,8 and 9, and i can't change the port created by the BT manager. oh dear
