Hi all

Can anyone help me. I am trying to get a Fortuna GPSmart to work with Microsoft Autoroute on the USB port. The problem is that Autoroute software wants to work at 4800 kps and the Fortuna GPSmart wants to work at 38400 kps. Is there anyway of changing the baud rate in either Autoroute or in the Fortuna GPSmart so as they will work togather?

Many Thanks,
Kat

Are you sure the Fortuna can output NMEA over USB? I thought it was Bluetooth only.

Yes it can acording to the book, but there is nothing about changing the baudrate. It works fine with its own software wich is set to 38400 kbps, but that software dose not have any detailed maps of Northern Ireland. Microsofts Autoroute has, but wants to chat with the GPS at 4800 kbps.

Thanks Kat

Thanks Kat

I use a Royaltek Sapphire via the USB port on the laptop that defaults to NMEA 4800 kbps there doesn't seem to be any way of changing that setting. In Autoroute it is looking for NMEA v2.0 and above, on the laptop I have Com 1, 2 and 3 available but Autoroute will only see the Sapphire on Com 3. Works a treat in the car but I do run the laptop on mains voltage via an in-car 12v to 240v converter.

Hi

Thanks for the info. This is a GPSmartbt Personal Navigator and it only seems to work at 38400 kbps. Autoroute wants it to work at 4800 and it will not.

Thanks anway.
