to be honest i am running out of ideas.

have you got any mates who can lend you their memory stick for 1/2 hour?

failing that could the moderator move this to the palm or mapsonic forum in case someone there has anything to add.

have you read page 27 of the manual. the bit about calculation extent. from what i read if you have the parameters set to shortest and complete and then do a route on a large area it calculates every route combination until it finds the best one it says this can take several minutes but if you then move your destination it wont have to do it again. either chose quickest and complete or shortest and limited. i think i would chose the former to start with and see how you get on

I completely missed that (Obviously!)

It calculated a he same journey I tried last night in 2m 30s as opposed to quarter of an hour!

I feel much better about it all now.
