|
|
From junctions 38 to 43 on the M4 around Neath there is a permanent 50mph speed limit monitored by average speed cameras.
During this there are cameras with no "middle" designation so the average speed warning is cancelled (at least on my STA)
The start and ends are
Westbound start 203358, end 210260
Eastbound start 202666, end 203163
all other cameras through this section should be marked as middle I think
I started to change them on the map but didn't want to risk upsetting the exits/entrances on slip roads etc.
Should I carry on editing this?
Regards

Hi, no that's great!
I've gone along that stretch and edited where needed. The exit sliproads are handled slightly differently in that we have markers separate to the actual cameras (which CamerAlert and STA use) to end the alerts. If an END camera on a sliproad is in line with the main carriageway then we mark it as a MIDDLE so people staying on the main route don't lose their average speed - but then use an 'EXITSPECS' further along the exit road. |

While you're here - we've had remove requests for the 3 cameras at the Northern end of this run:
210260 (last one Westbound)
202666 (first one eastbound)
202843 (entry sliproad near start of eastbound)
Judging by what you've said I think these cameras are still present - can you confirm? |

Matthew, I travel here several times per week and I can confirm they are all there and are accurately described in the database. I don't understand why they have been reported as removed as they're pretty obvious. Looked at the reports but can't see any explanatory notes by the reporter.
Do you want me to verify on the database? |

I don't know when I will next be along that stretch but topref has already responded.
The start and ends correspond with my recollection and can not confirm 202843 without visiting it

From the various remove submissions I've seen and been out and checked, nothing surprises me.
That's why verification is mandatory. _________________ DashCam:
