Interesting. How did you convert it?
Unfortunately I can't use the UK database, since I live in Norway, but I'd love to convert the tomtom base.

will this work with the mdpna 100 by any chance?, if not, has anyone else got the camera database for the mdpna 100 as the ones on this site only seem to work with the TTN Navigator

Hi there

I have done all you said to get my PNA175 to show the taskbar and I have downloaded and installed the Camera package, the thing I got stuck on was the HEX Editor, which one did you use?

It would be great if this works :-)

Thanks

You can download a free hex editot from http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm#download

back up navigator.exe first and search for the hex string
41 00 75 00 74 00 6F 00 20 00 41 00 6C 00 65 00 72 00 74 00 20 00 31

this represents A u t o A l e r t 1 with each letter followed by a zero.

you can change each character with a new one and save the file.

The Auto Alert database is very fussy about the csv inport file.
I use Excel to format the csv file creating three columns name,comment,long,lat.
the first field "name" each row must have the same amount of chrs and must not contain ': or '@' symbols.
the second column must have at least six chrs and not contain ':' or '@' chars.
The third and forth columns are the long and lat fields.
after saving the file from excel open it in notepad and remove the last linefeed.
The file should then import OK

Did try it out but got no sound or warning, then I lost the Medion program off both unit and the storage card... got them back thanks to a backup but that scared me a bit!

Will try again, I expect I did it wrong,I got a bit confused managaed to do the Hex EDITING (I THINK!) but could not figure out the last part.

The sounds for the distance alerts are in the lines like change 141;1 to camera and save the camera.wav file to the same directory

::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,141;1,"Poi Alert 1"

Sorry to be a pain but can you explain it to me, I feel a bit thick!

Thanks

Hi I have been thinking about this, are you saying we have to change the lines to this or is it the one below that?

Correct Number 1?

::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,camera,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,camera,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,camera,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,camera,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,camera,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,camera,"Poi Alert 1"

Correct Number 2?

::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,camera;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,camera;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,camera;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,camera;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,camera;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,camera;1,"Poi Alert 1"

Thanks :-)

Ok I think I have got it :-)

Its the Number one thats correct, I have finally figured out that the ; between the "141;1," means the unit will play the "Favourites Alert" e.g. 141; first then it will play the "One" e.g. 1, wav sound after it.

So when its set off as you approach the camera before the change yyou get "Favourites Alert One" coming out in one sentence, clever!

By changing it to just "camera," it plays the "Warning camera ahead" wav instead.

Umm this could get interesting!

Am I right in what I have said?

Thanks

Hello all.

I am very new to sat nav and have the Medion unit which I rather like. However I would like to have the speed camera positions on my unit.
I have followed your instructions as best I can but cant seem to get it to work. I have downloaded the software to my unit but just cant seem to activate it.

Its almost like I am missing a screen Question

Any help will be greatly recieved

Thanks in advance

Hi all
I've been away.
you are right tel33. the data 141;1 can be replaced by up to four words seperated by a ; each word will then play the .wav with the same name so that small sentances may be announced.

I have placed a zip file on my site with the files needed to display SPEED CAMERA instead of Auto Alert 1
and change the distances to be more practical for camera warnings
The full description is on http://www.active-soccer.co.uk/The%20Medion%20MDPNA%20150.htm

the file can be found here http://www.active-soccer.co.uk/speed%20cameras.zip
