Hi All,
I've decided to go down the TT route (having tried Magellans DirectRoute in my handheld and decided it's seriously wanting). I've seen TT in action so am happy with what it does etc.
I already have a HP Jornada 568 and a GlobalSat BC-307 CF. The problem is that if I put the CF card in I've only got enough memory left in the Jornada to load ~32MB maps. Ideally I want (at least) the whole of the UK or at least the southern 64MB and 64MB of NW France.
It seems to me I have 2 options:
1. Buy a cable GPS for the HP (i.e. the TomTom one) and a 256MB CF card.
2. Buy a new PDA with enough memory e.g. hz4700 which has a CF slot so I can use my existing GPS (and this one has BT so could get a BT GPS later).
Specific Q's are:
How well does the TT GPS work? I believe it's the same chipset as the GlobalSat device? Is it mounted inside the car or outside? How long is the cable?
Obviously a new 4700 will perform much faster than my old Jornada but does that matter? Will the old Jornada running TT3 keep up OK with the prompts and screen updates when driving?
Anyone care to proffer any opinions (or alternatives I've missed)?
TIA,
J. |

Your PDA has only one slot, and it's a CF?
Strange really. Mine has CF and SD. It depends on how much your replacement items are going to cost really. I have a CF GPS too but it has 512mb of memory onboard. |

The Jornada 568 has only 1 CF - it's pretty pre-historic |

you could get an mmc battery pack for the 568 it will run tt3 but you will have to hide the pois in navigator mode so it will kerp up last i checked vodaphone live shops were the main resellers for jornada spares so give them a shout or try hp i think mine was £100 quid or so inc vat a delivery cheeper option than a new ipaq _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone.
