|
|
Is there a limiation if one wanted to use one BT GPS receiver with a laptop with one SW and a PPC with another SW simultaneously?
(Don't ask why... )
For example: I have Teletype on my laptop and CoPilot Live on my iPAQ with one BT receiver running.
Thanks,

The only BT receiver that can do this is the Emtac Trine - it can accept up to four independent BT connections. _________________ Lutz

If you can compromise and get by with one BT connection and one wired connection then the Holux 230/231 can provide both at once (provided the BT connection is established) - but I haven't checked it yet on my systems. I believe there are other receivers with the same capability. |

Are you saying I will always need the BT connection to be established in order to receive the GPS data via the wire to the laptop? In other words, I could not everjust run the laptop without the PPC also running?
Has anyone used the Holux 230/231 this way?

Pete,
That seems to be the story - a design "over-sight" when configuring the power saving arrangements, the unit powers down after approx. ten minutes if there is no BT link. The Holux threads in this forum have more details. I intend to test out the operation in the near future once I have finished PC upgrades and moved my mapping applications.

I spoke with someone from GPSCity.com and they told me that this should not be a problem on the GR231. I will let you know when I get my receiver.
