Does anyone know if the BR305 when just being powered will be searching for a satellite fix? Or does it need to be prompted by the Laptop/Pocket PC etc to start searching?

My cars cigarette lighter socket is an always-on one and I wonder whether I can happily leave the mouse always connected or whether this will eventually drain the car battery?

I am assuming that the mouse needs some signal to start is searching but maybe that's not the case...?

Normally the receivers are autonomous and do not need to be connected to a computer.

It will take a long time before the car battery runs out.

By long time, would this be more than a week?
