I ordered the DC-230 from the Singapore chap that many of you have already mentioned. I have just been notified that the shipment was confiscated by Belgian Customs since it did not bear any proof of CE certification. The manufacturer Web site mentions they did have the device certified.
Does any of you have any proof in any form that the DC-230 has been certified for use in the EC? I may just save the situation if I can provide such proof to Customs before they destroy it (or give it as a present to some customs employee Evil or Very Mad ).
Thanks in advance for any help.

It is possible that devices not sold for the European market lack CE marking - though there's no reason why this should be the case seeing as once the necessary testing and certification has been done, it's just a sticker.

Unfortunately this sort of thing is one of the perils of ordering from abroad.

On a lot of (asian) websites and ebay selllers it is stated they will not ship to belgium due to regular customs actions.
I am not sure (and it wont help you now) but maybe your GPS is suffering from just that.
