HELP: Just for TTM and can't copy files to mini sd for c500?

I know we're warned that you can't copy the files to another card, but everyone on here says you can?

I'm using the card reader on my laptop, and have tried copying to HD and direct to C500 using active sync?

Some files copy ok, other say they are unreadable or corrupt? They either are corrupt or protected?

How did everyone else manage?
