Hack to enable iQue & NMEA?

Does a utility exist that would allow 3rd party NMEA apps to work with an iQue? It seems it would be possible to create a Palm "hack" that emulates the serial port functions to do this.

Would there be much demand or have all the reasonable apps been ported to the iQue already?

Any ideas on the number of iQues out there?

AFAIK it's not physically possible.

It seems that it should be possible. A Palm "hack" enables you to effectively replace certain API calls. You could replace the serial communication functions, call into the iQue API, and return NMEA. That's assuming you can replace the serial functions just as easily as the others and that the iQue's Palm OS is not radically different and still allows hacks.

I'm contemplating developing such a utility, but I want to gauge the interest to see if I could get my money back if it were sold as shareware (e.g. I don't even own an iQue).
