Hi all,
This is my first post - I purchased an IPAQ 4150 and CoPilot Live 5 with Bluetooth GPS over the weekend.
I've had loads of problems with the Bluetooth connection, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?
Basically, CoPilot can get past the "GPS COM port opened" every time (even if the GPS is switched off!) but gets stuck on "Detecting GPS signal..." if you check the GPS Options.
If I click on "Setup GPS" and click Manual, and then change the baud rate to something else, about 10% of the time it works. Also, if I manually connect in the IPAQ's Bluetooth Manager, it then seems to work sometimes.
How can I get the Ipaq to automatically connect to the GPS via Bluetooth, without having to mess about each time?
Once connected, everything works brilliantly, and the connection stays rock-solid until I next switch either the IPAQ or GPS off, or if the battery runs out.
It is very frustrating.
CoPilot Live version is 5.0.1.30 if this helps. |

Hi there.
First of all, apply the autoconnection hack (BtBrowserEnabled=0)
Then, set CoPilot to manual , with the outgoing COM port from your BT manager (COM6, 7 or 8 - someone please confirm for the 4155) and 38400.
That should help.
Auto GPS detection doesn't work properly on CP. _________________ Lutz

Hi,
Thanks for the reply - From your tips, I think I may have found the correct order to do things to make this work.
Just to show that I am a total "noob" when it comes to ipaqs and GPS, please could you let me know where I can find a registry editor for the PocketPC? :-)
Thanks,
Darren. |
