Same here = the CSV Converter.

But I now use CamerAlert linked to the car system - works like a charm.

I still run the Garmin for an earlier visual warning of up ahead cameras plus the digital traffic.

I don't think that suggesting CA is very helpful in this instance.
The PGPSW cameras can be loaded onto the DS61 with voice alerts. I KNOW it can because I've got one with the alerts on it.
It will just take a bit of patience to help rabbitseggs achieve it.

Solved most of my problems with the Garmin 61 and the no voice directions with Google maps on my Samsung S7 (other posts).

The warning tone on the Garmin doesn't work in my car but can just be heard in my wife's car. The PGPSW camera alerts work in her car but not mine as do the voice directions with Google maps. The difference between the cars is her car does not have Bluetooth and mine does and I have a heated windscreen and hers does not.

If I switch off the SYNC between my phone and the car the PGPSW camera alerts all work on the Garmin 61 as does the redirection for route delays. The voice directions for Google maps also works. The only outstanding issue is the warning tone on the Garmin which still does not work and I am wondering if this has anything to do with having a heated windscreen (Ford Fiesta). The car is fitted with its own Sat Nav but it is C**p so I do not use it.

I do think Garmin could do with increasing the volume of the warning tone.

Absolutely nothing to do with that provided that the nav 'follows the car'. Heated screens have been rumoured to block the sat signals, so the satnav will just not work art all with the sat signals blocked.
If you do not get voice alerts using CSV-GPX converter, you are still doing something wrong.

I fail to see what you are getting at here. Syncing your phone to your car will not affect the DS61 in the slightest. Are you saying that the DS61 does not work with your phone synced to your car? This is all very confusing as to exactly what your symptoms are.

Do you mean it doesn't work, or you can't hear it? If it beeps in your wife's car, it will beep in yours. Unless you have two different units set up differently.

The Garmin 61 PGPSW work perfectly in my wife's car but will not work at all in my car. Google maps voice directions work in my wife's car but not mine. The Garmin warning tone sounds in my wife's car but is only just audible. In my car no sound at all. I have no trouble with the Garmin Sat Nav although the re-direction for delays tells me about the length of delay but does not re-route me If I switch off SYNC (car to phone) then Garmin works perfectly. PGPSW Camera alerts work as does the re-direction in case of delays. I still don't get a warning tone from the Garmin system. With Google maps instead of just a visual display on my phone I now get full voice instructions.. I have no idea why this is but it is fact. Clearly I seem to have an issue with Bluetooth. SYNC phone to Car I have a problem, switch off SYNC phone to car and the problem goes away.

I have used a TOMTOM for many years with no issues at all. My only reason for changing to Garmin was so I could carrying on using PGPSW camera alerts and adding my own POI.

At least I now know how to get a things to work even if I do not understand why.

Working in one car but not another is crazy.

Does the car icon move along the road indicating it's got a GPS lock ?

Yes the icon moves perfectly it is just that there is no vocal instructions with Google maps on my phone. With the Garmin the icon and the vocal instructions work fine but PGPSW does not. Switch off SYNC between the phone and car solves both problems

I also have a heated windscreen and it can ocassionally take a while for the GPS to get a lock, I have to place it hard against the screen but once it has locked then I can move it later.

I do not have this device and am only just coming to grips with my new Garmin but I don't suppose your device is connecting to your car's bluetooth and trying to play the sounds using A2DP profile rather than handsfree. Do you have the option to switch your car's receiver to bluetooth audio and what result does this give.

Just throwing an idea in the air

I've had heated car windscreens for many years and never had an issue with my Garmins (four of them so far) getting a lock. I certainly though don't allow it to connect to anything apart from the power cable Wink

This is hellish confusing as you are talking about 2?3?4? different devices.Lets try to separate the problems if you want to solve them.
Can we talk about just one device please.
Quote:
I have no trouble with the Garmin Sat Nav
But you said
Quote:
The Garmin 61 PGPSW work perfectly in my wife's car but will not work at all in my car.
Quote:

Well, which is it?
Quote:
If I switch off SYNC (car to phone) then Garmin works perfectly
If you are talking about synching your phone to the car or the satnav? If the former, it can have absolutely no bearing on the operation of the satnav.
Quote:

Make up your mind.
Unless you can start separating the problems and not apparently contradicting yourself all over the place so that we can understand the problems, how do you expect us to help you?
If when you are talking about PGPSW, are you talking about the database on your 61 of CamerAlert on your phone? If the latter, please refer to it as CamerAlert or CA so that we will know you are not talking about the PGPSW database on your DS 61.

Lets start with a couple of simple questions and try to solve one problem at a time.
1. How many sat nav devices do you have (excluding phones)?
2. Does the satnav track your car when you are driving? If it does, we can eliminate the windscreen from the equation.
Please just answer those with no extra confusing information.

Ok. One Point at a time.

I only have one Sat Nav, a Garmin Drivesmart 61LMT. I have installed PGPSW camera alert. The Sat Nav works in both my wife's car and mine. The icon follows the car and the vocal instructions are fine. PGPSW works in my wife's car with a clear vocal warnings. When in my car I get no response at all, pictorial or Vocal. If I switch off the SYNC (phone to Car) then PGPSW cameras work fine with clear vocal warnings.

PGPSW Camera Alert (actually called CamerAlert) is an app that is installed on a phone and has absolutely nothing to do with the database that you load on the DS61 (other than they both use the same data). So when you talk about PGPSW camera alert are you talking about CamerAlert installed on your phone or the PGPSW database loaded onto your DS61. If you are talking about the stuff that you have loaded onto your DS61, it would be better if you called it the PGPSW database rather then the confusingly named CamerAlert smatrtphone app.

Q.1 So, as I understand it, you have the PGPSW database loaded onto your DS61 using the PGPSW custom icons and voice alerts. Is this correct? I am confused because you have referred to both the beep from the DS61 and spoken alerts.
Q2. Are you to running the CamerAlert smartphone app at the same time as the DS61

Please use the following terminology as what you are using at the moment is confusing:
CamerAlert running on a smartphone = CamerAlert
PGPSW database running on your DS61 = PGPSW database.
Direction commands from any nav programme = Spoken Direction Instructions
Voice alerts from CA telling you about cameras = CA Warnings

I cannot see how connecting your phone to the car by Bluetooth can possibly affect how the DS61 is working as you seem to imply it does.

You still appear to be contradicting yourself
Quote:

Then you say
Quote:
PGPSW works in my wife's car with a clear vocal warnings. When in my car I get no response at all, pictorial or Vocal.
What on earth are you talking about? Rolling Eyes I'm confused. Or is the second quote about CamerAlert on the phone?
Q3. Which doesn't work? The phone or the DS61?
Three questions. Three answers please with no other information that might cause confusion.

If it is CamerAlert playing through the bluetooth linked car system with no volume then there is a solution.

Read right through to where I played a music track to set the volume:

I was beginning to suspect that as well K. But with all the other stuff he posted and the terminology used, i was as confused as hell as to exactly what his problem was/is.
If his DS61 is working fine, why bother mentioning it as it just confuses things?
