No red route on map

I have observed a strange problem using TomTom 3 where it would not colour in the planned route red - the route was left shown as normal roads.

This occured in both map (A-B) and Navigator modes after using the Sardina map for about a week. However, if I switched back to the British map, I could plot a route (using map A-B) and it would show up just fine, but not on the Sardina map. A little bit disconcerting, because I rely heavily on looking at the route shown in order to decide where to go on junctions etc, when the directions aren't clear. Note that the navigation function (schematic directions), voice prompts etc all worked fine.

No amount of resetting TomTom or the PPC would cure it. However, I then performed a hard-reset and restored everything from a backup (note: maps are stored on flash card), and then I got my red-route back. So although this appeared to be map dependent, actually it was something on TomTom that had gone wrong.

Anybody else seen this, and have a better method of curing the problem?

That's standard behaviour. All properties of the application are map specific, so that you can have different average speeds etc. The route display settings can be changed there as well, and youe Sardinia map probably has it set to "background"
