help please, new user, just downloaded and installed database to my device, looking in the poi folder it lists 'garmin speed.gpi' is this correct, does garmin's poi loader covert the original csv files/ mp3 files to a single gpi file. Was just trying to check all downloaded correctly. Thanks

Hi,

When you run POI Loader it will supply the name of the GPX file to use, which you can then change - But yes it will convert all files into a single file for the garmin.

Also the nulink 2390 does not work with MP3 files, you need the WAV files instead.

And remember to download sox from PGSPW (link found in another thread) and save the exe in the poi loader application folder

Sox? What does that do? I've been using POILoader on a Mac with no problems without it.

SOX.exe is a third party utility that converts .WAV files into a format that the Garmin via the POILoader can understand.

With SOX you can have spoken warnings, without SOX you just get bongs.

Your choice between something like "Gatso ahead, speed Limit 50 miles per hour" or 'Bong' Very Happy
