I've never seen this behaviour. Can you find out what settings are being used? Specifically, under 'Settings, Routing, Map dependent' have the 'fastest route' preferences been altered? If so, use the reset button.
Also, is the user selecting 'fastest', 'shortest' or 'cheapest' options?

As an HGV driver I had to change the Map Dependant settings to ensure the routes used are suitable for a 45 foot artic. So use of motorways and primary roads are much better than smaller roads. Also speed limits and actual road speeds for HGVs are slower than your car. Therefore I set the preferences as follows:

Motorway:
Non-urban - 56mph
Urban - 56mph
Prefer - 90% (along the bar)

Primary:
Non-Urban - 45mph
Urban - 40mph
Prefer - 75% (along the bar)

Major:
Non-Urban - 40mph
Urban - 30mph
Prefer - 50%

Minor:
Non-Urban - 30mph
Urban - 25mph
Prefer - 35%

Unclassified:
Non-Urban - 30 mph
Urban - 20mph
Prefer - 10%

Any ideas as to why the thing keeps taking me off the motorway and back on at the same junction? I'm at a loss. Sad

On my way in to London (UK) via the M4 the other day, all heavy traffic.

Never encountered the problem the other posters described about leaving and rejoining motorways until now. But it has now happened to me, instructions from Navigator said to leave, then later to rejoin, I did advance myself in the queue by about half a mile. I only realised what was going on when I was told to rejoin the motorway as I wasn't watching the map display.

On a very old bit of mapping software (DOS driven!) it had the usual speed ratings for each type of road, and your preference for each type of road. But it also had a preference for changing roads (percentage - like road changes or dislike), perhaps this would stop Navigator leaving and rejoining motorways?

It would be interesting to know how many others encounter this problem and how often. As I say this is the first time I've encountered the problem, and I have used the software quite successfully here and in France for quite a while.
