Hi All
Im a little confused over model numbers and searching I have done.
Argos are selling the above 1005 UK ROI EU, it states that the model number is 1CQ0.002.08
It also shows a price of £199, with a £70
doesn't mention storage space or a slot for expansion card.
Some retailers show the 1CQ0.002.08 to be 4GB and no sd slot, others show it as a version 2, with 8GB and a sd slot.
Any help from users more than welcome
Many thanks in advance

You are right that there have been different models, all with the same "GO1005 " name.
there have been both 4GB and 8GB models, both available with or without SD card slots, and there was even a 2GB version.
But those part numbers like 1CQ0... (they're not actually model numbers) are a mystery to the best of us. TT have never released a full list, or any explanation for them.
In fact... sometimes what people think is a model number is just TT's internal part number for the cardboard BOX!
The best way to tell exactly what model you have is to use the first two characters of your unit's serial number (the one on the barcode label), but obviously that's of no use to you at all before you buy one!
Sorry to be not much help at all.... _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Hi Andy_P
Many thanks for your reply.... These devices are sooooo confusing.
I also emailed TomTom for any info, the response was, this is a version 2 device, but no version 2 have the micro sd slot, I was told to check serial number too.
Begins with SA it has 4GB memory
begins with SB it has 2GB memory
so.......... I went to Argos to view the box which I obviously couldn't open. The serial number starts with ST, which isn't even mentioned by the tomtom email.
I further confused mysef by picking up the new argos catalogue released today, the new version is TOMTOM GO LIVE 1005 HDT M Europe
I need a new tomtom just don't want to buy early model that may bring problems, the £70 saving looked attractive
best regards

ST equates to:
GO LIVE 1005 / GO LIVE 1015 / GO LIVE 2050 - 8GB + SD

Ah, that's good to know... So the serial number of the device is actually on the outside of the sealed box?
I had a horrible feeling that only the part number of the cardboard box itself would be printed on it! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
