I can't believe that Apple could get it so wrong. Regardless of the functionality of the app, the attention to detail is what lets this update down which is something you don't expect from Apple. Poor imagery, missing poi's, missing towns.

I actually like the app itself. It's a massive improvement. However, the POI data is shocking...

As above the app seems great but difficult to tell with the mess of data provided. |

Well, I absolutely hate its guts!! I use my iPad for very little, but the one thing I loved about Google Maps was Streetview. I used it all the time to look up my delivery destinations. It was invaluable in showing me what to expect, right down to yellow lines and no parking signs - OK, not necessarily totally reliable for possibly old pictures, but even then it gave me a good idea that there was probably an element of driving restriction. Now the only place I have Streetview available is on the computer at home - that's absolutely useless when I get a delivery instruction whilst I'm out on the road.
I don't give a monkeys about accuracy of the maps, be they Apple or Google - I use dedicated navigation from my trusty TomToms and they always get me there.
Accuracy of POIs? Probably from TomTom? You've got to be joking!

POIs are actually from Yelp although if you run the Yelp app you'll see the locations are (mostly) correct. Whereas Apple have done some magic and screwed up a lot of locations - usually where there's the same street name in the same town. E.g. there are shops on James Street in Thornton (BD13) that are actually on James Street in town (BD1). The other data is correct but Apple have clearly done some bad fudging of addresses instead of using the actual coordinates!
