Hiya

What would your guys advise be? I m a doctor who uses a PDA to access medical textbooks on the go, database programs to record operations i have done and also for sat Nav.

I have a faulty e740 which is now goibng back to Tshiba for the 3rd time with white screen dilema, and i have a Bluetooth receiver, socket wifi card tomtom 2 etc.

Ideally id like a pocket pc with wifi bluetooth cf and sd slots all in- a tall order.
Ipaqs have a good repuation so I have been thinking of upgrading to a ipaq 4150 new or a used 5550 as they seem to go fot 250 to 300 on ebay.

Both seem to have the same processor only differnce i can tell is 128mb memory in 5550.

IS there much else?
Is the battery time better in 5550?
what about size etc as local dixons/ pc world donts tock the 5550.

what would your advise be? new 4150? of used 5550?

I was thuinking of going for a 2210 as it has facilty to hold cf cards.
I have a canon ixus camera with CF cards and am able to put these in the e740 to view pics, but though against this as i wanted the wifi to be built in and not have to use an external card like at present.

The 4150 only has a SD slot but has inbuilt wifi & bluetooth & is tiny compared to the 5550 and doesn't have the external antena but wifi reception is as good! The 4150 truly is pocket sized whereas the 5550 is much bigger but does come with 128mb of ram & fingerprint recognition (gimmick after 5 mins unless you are paranoid about your data).

Although they have the same 400mhz processor, my 4150 feels quicker than my 5550 (which I sold). Some people complain of a yellow screen on the 4150 but I haven't noticed it.

Not sure on battery life, but both have removable batteries so you can buy a spare (which can be charged on the usb cradle with the 4150).

I wouldn't go back to my 5550!

HP have started to release there new Ipaq's if your not in a rush to purchase i would wait a couple of months and get the latest model the 4150 is been discontinued along with the 5550 you could get a bargin on ebay if thats what you want. be mindful that the speaker is not very powerful on the 5550 so if your using it in the car you will need an amplified external speaker
