9.430 and any 9.xxx software causes long delays of up to five minutes in connecting many Go x40 devices to the Live servers which is why some people use v8 software where it usually takes under a minute.

Ah I see. For some reason I don't notice a delay with connecting.

Thanks for the clarification. I can see why that might be a problem for some.

I'll swear I saw a post somewhere promising that the M6 Toll junction 11 northbound would be put right in the v890 maps. But it isn't - still showing that part of M6 as Toll Road. Grrrr

Dennis, I believe it was AndyP and if I remember correctly it was to be fixed in v895 maps as it was only reported to tomtom in the previous quarter so would never have had time to make it to v890.

Ah, yes, you're right. But three maps with it wrong is very poor - I mean, how much effort and coding does it take to remove some annotation?

I agree it does take too long from telling them about major map issues to getting then fixed. Although I did read somewhere recently that there is a group looking into trying to speed up the whole process, tomtom is involved so is a whole lot of other companies.

This isn't a "major map issue", some ***** added the annotation that this section of road is Toll. It needs a bit of india rubber!

I do wish we didn't have to call cockups issues and challenges.

Must have been the same ****** that cocked up the new Tyne tunnel also, added the new tunnel but instead forgot to add the toll road designator so anybody heading North through the tunnel won't get a 'Toll charge' screen prompt. That's getting fixed in the next map release or this one possibly, I haven't got the latest map on any of my devices yet Sad

That's the one I looked at. Didn't think of trying the Southbound. Embarassed

However ... having now checked the Southbound, there is another problem. Rolling Eyes

If you start a route on the Toll part of the tunnel, North or South bound, it plans correctly. It also states that your departure point is on a Toll Road.

Unfortunately, if you plan your route to start before the Toll Section, North or South bound, it won't let you enter the Tunnel. Evil or Very Mad

I was using 'Prepare Route A - B' for the experiment. It looks as if the exit/entry transition data is wrong.

Ive got my upgraded map with the new olympic POI's included, can these be extracted to a spreadsheet anyone know for personal use to be plotted with google maps like normal POI can etc?
The dumpov2 program only returns a blank file?

Im not clued up on the new rpf files, are these something we can make ourselves, what are they for never really seen these before now?

A long time ago there were programs that could open the files for the built-in POI's and any mapshare additions to them, but I haven't been able to do it for ages, even the normal poi.dat file

I haven't got v890 maps on any of my NAV 2 models yet so I've never seen these .rpf files at all, but I bet they are encrypted just as firmly as poi.dat!

Unfortunately the ".rpf" extension has been used for several other types of file too, so Googling is a confusing affair, as there are many "openers and readers" for completely different types of .rpf file.
