Discovered this FREE app the other day - and thought I'll give it a try.....
It's Brilliant.....
The maps are a lot more up to date than TomTom's (for example - it has a housing estate called HAMPTON on there, that's been there for at least 5 years - TomTom's maps only cover a little bit of it.)
It hasn't got all the cameras and all the other nice things that TT has, but I'm seriously thinking of switching to this app when my Map Update Service runs out!!! _________________ XL LIVE IQ Routes (Europe)

i wouldn't rely on it as a main satnav. it uses openstreetmap data which in large towns can be very good or in random areas near where a contributor lives but it is still a long way off full country mapping.

NavFree uses OSM Map Data. The data may be very comprehensive in some areas and completely absent in others.
Also, the routing is very poor. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

I use Navfree all the time on my iPhone. I find it just as accurate as the TT I had on my windows phone. It is more up to date than google navigation and also uses no data as the maps are all downloaded to the phone. I have paid for the post code and camera updates total around £2. There have been many updates in the time I have been using it. I am looking forward to lane assist being added sometime in the future.. All in all good value for money, always in your pocket. O and it has walking, cycling. HGV and many other options that are not found on all expensive stand alone units. |

I beg to differ! While some areas where the mappers are active will get new roads on very quickly there are an awful lot of areas where there are no local mappers and, at best, you might just have some main trunk roads...
