Tomtom 720 will not boot up

Thanks Paul, Cannot get Tomtom to load further than the Tomtom splash screen, even in the card reader home will sometimes start, but more often it will not see even the card reader, don't know what else to try. thanks to everyone for their help. 720 dead it seems.

Seems the 720 software cannot be seen by Home via a card reader, I found it would when back-up is first transferred to a formatted sd card, and would be updated by Home. But after inserting into the 720 Home would not see it as in the unit or the card reader again. Strange things Tomtom do with their software. Pop-up tells me this happens with 720. Also if I delete Mapsettings.cfg it is not replaced, Tomtom loads to splash screen, but goes no further, have to press reset to switch the unit off !!!!
