Hi there,
I asked a simlar question a few months ago in the tomtom forum, but i need urgent help.
Santa brought me the 1005.
However, the HD traffic scope of the device is putting me off it. I could take it back amd buy any of the older models, eg 750, 850, and 820 live models which are still on sale between 140 and 185 quid.
I really need long range hd traffic.
So do i stick with the 1005 or get the refund and go for an older model. If so - which one? Uk amd europe maps are a minimum requirement.
Thanks |

You in the UK? I don't think I've ever heard of a Go 850 or 820 model. There's a Go750 and there's a Go825....
Also, AFAIK, the reduced HD traffic range affects ALL models now (as you'll see if you wade through the first few pages of this topic:
1005 HD Traffic USELESS (and now older models too!) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

The reduced range is not as reduced on the 750 as it is on the 1005 (Nav 10, MyTomTom devices) which are down to about 40 or 50 miles - the 750 does maybe 80 and supposedly TT are going to bring (back) up to 100 miles - they have been promising to do something about it for a very long time, but we are still waiting.
Anyway, if HD Traffic range is important to you, get a 750. _________________ Dennis

Thanks for the replies. I am in the uk - west London actually - I've looked at so many models last few days my head is spinning
So the range on HD traffic is 50 miles for all devices except the 750? What about the 950 - which is what you advised me to go for last time Andy?
I also want to put the cam database on it from here - so I think the 750 is the way to go? |

Any of the x50 range will be fine for the HD Traffic range of around 80 miles, real shame that TomTom have reduced the effective range from 100 miles though as it used to be a great service.
Its the new models in the current product range that you need to avoid as they can only see 40 to 50 miles which is useless IMHO - Mike |
