Hello,
I have just bought a TomTom Live 1005. I also still have my TomTom GO 910
I connected my new TomTom to the PC and connected to My TomTom, logging in with my original account that was for my Go 910.
It advised my that my Go 910 was linked to this account and would I like to link my 1005. I took that option and now it keeps advising me I have new items but these are for my 910 amd not 1005. I have only just read that you can only have one device linked to an account.
I have created another account for my 910 but would like to stop my 1005 account from referencing items for my 910.
Any advice or guidenece would be most welcome and appreciated.

Oops. Or in other words, ooooooops!!
You need to recover from this by getting your 910 back onto the account it had before. Logically it would mean a fair bit of fiddling to juggle it.
I think, however, that your best bet would be to ring TomTom to get them to sort it out for you from their end, because you need the 910 stuff for that device (and probably some of it won't work for the 1005 anyway).
TomTom's phone number is in my signature but they may not be working tomorrow. Give it a try anyway. _________________ Dennis

Hi DennisN
Thanks for your fast reply.
I contacted TomTom via their live chat feature.
The soution they offered was to ignore any new items / updates offered for the 910 or create a new account for the 1005.
I have already created a new account for the 910.
I think, as you suggested, I'll ring or email TomTom on this issue.
Regards,
Phil. |

When you ring them, be sure before you start just what you are aiming for, so that you can pursue it single mindedly.
May I suggest what you want is...
a) the 1005 to be registered and have whatever benefits it comes with (isn't that the Latest Map Guarantee and free Live Services for a period? or something). Incidentally, the current latest is map v880, make sure you have/get that one.
b) the 910 to have whatever benefits registered to it that you had before you chopped the registration off - did you have Map update Service or GPRS Traffic or anything? _________________ Dennis

Thanks DennisN
I do have the latest Map on the 1005 and all seems to be well using the new account I created and linked the 1005 to.
However, I will do as you suggest and ring them, giving them the whole scenario.
Regards,
Phil. |

On the subject of My TomTom and TomTom home, can someone enlighten me as to the difference betwen the two. I run my 520 and xxl on TT home and have only just learned about My TT. Is there alot of benifits or is it just another name for Home. |

MyTomTom is not for your devices, it's for the latest models. According to some people, it's even worse than Home! _________________ Dennis

And for the benefit of anyone reading this thread in three and a half months' time, TomTom are these days issuing 'new' maps every three months, so v885 will not be the latest map then. _________________ Dennis
