Having updated to Navcore 8.351 I now find that the TMC will not get a fix.
Just been to Newbury in Berkshire and both there and back I just get the green arrow and no traffic info. I use this about 3 weeks ago on a Saturday and got a lock very fast in the Basingstoke area, travelled up the A33 and M4 to the M25. Green circle showed missing data first quadrant greyed out on the M4 just passed Reading then no signal to Hemel H and back to Basingstoke, thought it a bit odd then. Now nothing just the green arrow going around and around.
Tried to manually tune with no luck.
Looked at old threads and checked everything as advised all looks OK.
Are there any files I need to check? Is there a look-up list of radio frequencies? _________________ TT520 running App 8.351 & map UK&I v845.26345

I have just taken a two hour trip along the M3/M25 and TMC did not lock on once.
Now I am back home I have just removed the MCTX file, which I thought had the station information that TMC look at to get a traffic signal. However the little green arrow is still revolving around and around. If this file held the frequency info something is clearly not working.
Does anyone know what the MCTX file does?
Is the TMC frequency info part of the Navcore or is it in another file.
I think the TT is not looking for a signal at all. In the past if it could not find a traffic signal it would state "no traffic signal searching for another station" I no longer see this message no matter what I manually tune the traffic to. _________________ TT520 running App 8.351 & map UK&I v845.26345

Here in Spain and in France also my TMC works like a charm, in Blighty though it's a real hit'n'miss affair. Interesting that you say that you have only noticed degradation since upgrading to 8.351. For me, the only benefit of 8.351 are the "labels" in Map View which point to home, destination, location, etc.
Sorry, can't help you with details of which folders hold the TMC info. But if you use TMC more than you use "labels", would you consider rolling back to your previous NavCore? _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Interesting to hear you have grief as I have had for some months;
I even bought a 2nd hand RDS cable off flea bay to see if cable was grief.
Had no luck with that either, so it may not be my hardware after all.
I'm on Navcore 8.351 too; let me know if rolling back cures. _________________ Gel

I have RDS-TMC on both a 520 and on a Carminat. The difference is the Carminat is built in and uses the radio aerial to boost reception. The Carminat usually gets a signal instantly and keeps contact. The 520 will often take a long time to get reception.
But I have to say I sometimes wonder if the Carminat really is getting a signal, or just putting up the green disk to tell me it's switched on - RDS-TMC used to do that sort of thing - green disk meant info was fairly recent, three quarters disk meant it had lost signal quarter hour ago, half disk half an hour and so on, or maybe bigger intervals than that - I didn't pay a lot of attention because I never believed it anyway!
Edit to add - Sorry, I forgot to say the 520 is rolled back to 8.302 on the SD card I use, with 8.351 on internal, which I don't use because of the lousy volume. _________________ Dennis
