Can anyone recommend a screen protector for my 550 Live please?

Apart from the obvious scratch protection, I would like to find one that dims the screen a bit. I don't mean just anti-glare but one that actually reduces the brightness.

I find that even on the minimum setting the screen is quite bright especialy at night. Trying different map colours doesn't seem to help.

One other question, does the 550 LIVe have an automatic screen dim function based on ambient light as the 520T did, or does it just switch to night colours at a set time?

Thanks

The x50 units don't use the light sensor to adjust the backlight its based upon location and time of day.

I wouldn't use a screen protector on the unit they are not designed for such additions, quite often they exert pressure on the screen causing false menu selections.

Try the Afrika colour scheme for the night mode as thats about as dark as you can get the screen with the backlight turned right down - Mike

I've used a Martin Fields protector in the past. It is only mildly adhesive. In fact you can take it off, wash it, and reapply it. It did reduce reflections to a certain extent. I don't use it now as it gradually acquires blemishes and nicks. The TT screen is much more resilient
