HELP PLEASE

I purchased a 1000 today and haven't used it yet, here comes the stupid questions.
1. My live subscription for my previous 540 doesn't expire until January 2012 can I transfer it to my new one when it expires.
2. To claim my £50 part exchange allowance, I need the serial number which has worn of the sticker, can I find it anywhere else?

1/ Phone TomTom on 0845 161 0009 and ask. but I wouldn't be too hopeful to be honest.

2/ Connect your device to the PC, use Windows Explorer to open the drive letter associated with the device, locate the file "ttgo.bif" right click this and select Open With/ NotePad, the serial number should be on line four of this text file - Mike

Thank you Mike, next question if I may, how do I activate the bleep to warn of change to traffic info? The menu doesn't allow me to go to the sub menu.
