A34 M4 Jct 13 upgrade opened today

Well, the new section of the A34 Northbound is open at least (just driven it) BBC TV said that Southbound will open next week but the Project web site said that its hoped to open the southbound lanes later this evening.

As this is quite a complex junction now. you should take extra care if you rely on TTN as it will indicate (when travelling North or South) that you are about to approach a roundabout. this is no longer the case as the new section bypasses the old roundabout. If from the A34 (North or South) you need to take the M4 in either direction you should make sure you take the left hand slip road (marked "M4 Chievley") this will sweep around a long curve and deposit you at the original roundabout where you will find the slip roads for the M4 East and West map here.

Now the interesting question is when will these changes appear in the TomTom applications. Any bets?

well i bet that you will be waiting until they release the next version of tt for that update like most of us who live near to the new M6 toll road are waiting for our update... 8 months since it opened!!! lets face it, it isn't going to happen over night
