It stated it was updating on my tomtom and also on the 1000.

one of the joys of the myTomTom 'software' is it's complete failure to tell you WHAT it is updating... no one knows, for all you know TomTom could have been putting pr0n onto your device...

I have a curious situation where the task bar popup informs me I have new updates and "My TomTom" informs me I am up to date. Anyone know who is lying. |

There is very little we can offer in way of advice with the unit you have, try resetting it by holding down the on/ off switch until the device re-boots then try connecting it again, after that you need to phone them on 0845 161 0009 - Mike |

Many thanks. I will do the reset now (and then ring on Monday )
...Interlude.......
Reset done and will be ringing Monday. Now I have the little grey circles going around and around. Two on the website and one on my Taskbar.
I am beginning to wonder if TomTom's software programmers are on Work Experience. Lovely revolving circles ... credit where it is due..... but I have to be honest; I was hoping for more. |

Of course they're not - they're busy going round in little grey circles. _________________ Dennis

I can confirm it WASN'T a software update. all the version numbers are exactly the same as before.
And it wasn't a map update either....Too quick! |

Could it have been Tomtom taking log data off rather than putting anything useful on? |

That's indeed what MyHome does when the unit is connected. It's just not obvious what with all the convoluted symbols and messages the user sees during the connection process. _________________ David |
