best replacement for 720 and iphone 4 cradle poor

i have had a 720 for about 3 years and apart from new battery my friend replaced i have had no problems with it.
i have also iphone 4 with tom tom and bought a tom tom cradle for it., used it to day for a3 hour run thro central scotland to berwick and while going across the a68 i lost satellite intermittently and then totally for a 20 mile section. on screen the car would run alongside the road or the signal was just not there.

so the cradle is no use and will go back unless someone can tell me if i am not using it properly.
on the same journey old 720 faithful never missed a beat and never had any signal problems.

so now to the question which model replaces my 720 with ALL the features , route itinerary , spead camera update (pw of course) facilities and the others. it is most important that i dont lose features and gain the 'show photos play music' things.
so any help

If you can find a new 940 Live then you be laughing, anything newer than the 940 though and you will find it won't do anything like the capability of your three year old 720 - Some would call it progress........
