Hi, first post so be gentle.
After years of saying i'd never have one i've finally gorn and got meself a 255wt.
Some trucks i have to drive are 24v only and there's no guarantee that those supposed to have a 12v outlet haven't been bodged and are now running 24v through a supposed 12v outlet.
So my question, no doubt the first of many is....will the traffic power supply cable that came with the device cope with constant 24v?
I tried a search on this Garmin forum but nothing recent and nowt about the 255.
Thanks in advance. |

Ah, many thanks for that Banger, now all i've got to do is get the traffic receiver to work and i'll be a happy bunny.

Thought i'd wind this up for anyone interested, the 255 was great but i couldn't get the traffic to work, kept telling me to get it registered with Garmin the traffic provider being Michelin.
I bet some of you are already there, i'd bought the unit from Pixmania who sent me a traffic receiver for France...weren't able to supply the correct one so it's going back and i'm getting a refund...hopefully, we'll see .
So i'm now the proud owner of a 1490t instead and i'll find out tomorrow if the traffic works. |
