Sorry to waste your bandwidth.

What rubbish! I offered you help, I gave you the search term AND the name of the author AND I even gave you a direct link to one of his posts. And you slag me off! I won't miss you.

Says it all really.

You clearly have an anger management issue, you should seek help.

Right, getting back to my post.... Very Happy

@ Mike and Dennis, I bought a Class 6 SDHC card and reader (my old SC card reader wouldn't read the SDHC card), copied the contents of my GO720 backup to it, and then ran TomTom Home - as Dennis said, Home recognized the card as my device, and the map installed perfectly!

Just to be safe, I had already extracted the contents of my new map download as Mike had explained, and also backed everything up.
I left the contents of the internal memory untouched, including the old map.

When I put the card into the GO720 and switched on, it booted straight from the card, rather than internal memory, and ran the new map with no problems - fantastic! Very Happy

Now to update POI's etc. cut out all the unwanted CSspeech files, and install to internal memory. The card will be my "emergency backup" now, and I'll use it to download and install my map updates as they arrive, and test them first Wink

So thanks again to all who helped, especially Mike & Dennis

Kev

It has been said that running directy from a Class 6 SDHC card is faster than the TT internal workings. I think it was Mike told me that, so I run my GO520 from a 8GB SDHC card, leaving an emergency copy on the internal. You might want to consider that
