Your help will be appreciated.

Did you mean this to be a reply in another topic, Duffer, rather than a new one?
You can always use the "SEARCH" feature to search for other mentions of the word "tmccodes.dat" in the forum.
THIS topic should give you the info you need. |

The file sizes that you report look about right, its rather difficult to be exact though as you haven't specified which map version you are using on the device and this will have a bearing on the file size.
For the latest v840 UK&ROI map the files are sized as follows:
tmccodes.dat = 909,940 Bytes (just under 1MB)
traffic.dat = 31 Bytes (Windows tends to report small files such as this as under 1Kb
The issue with these two specific files is only when they are present with a file size of 0Kb in both cases, you don't have this problem so I think you are looking for a problem that doesn't exist - Mike |

On my GO 950, I have the UK & ROI v8.40 map installed and the tmccodes.dat is 909,950 bytes in size!
Traffic.dat is also 31 bytes in size!

So do you have a problem, duffer?
Is Traffic not working, or what? You haven't said! |

Duffer - have you tried tuning manually to a station - my recommendation would be sticking the car stereo onto Classic and making a note of the frequency its on and manually tune the Tomtom to it.
(Other stations do carry the signal - there is a spreadsheet on this forum somewhere but I don't believe it's been updated for quite a while). |

The frequency list is available as a POI file which can be used on the device to tell you the distance to the nearest transmitter, its power output and frequency, being a POI file the device offers the list sorted in to accending by distance all on its own - I will e-mail it over later if you want it - Mike |
