Hi, simple question , could any one tell me if the memory map 2800 as the trail up feature as on the satmap. I have searched the reviews and cannot find if the unit as this feature , any help would be appreciated . Thanks

Hi,
This might have been better asked in the MM forum here or on their own support website, but I think you can assume the answer is No.
Track heading information from GPS data is not sufficiently stable (at walking speeds) so an integral magnetic compass is required. The Satmap has one, but I've not seen it referred to for the 2800.
Furthermore, IMHO the MM screen driver software is relatively crude with few levels of zoom and no rotation capabilty (MM have claimed this is to give fast drawing speed). Considerably increased power consumption (shorter battery running time) might also be an issue.
Thanks for your honest reply, I have decided to sell my satmap and was thinking of the memory map 2800 due to having the memory map mapping, decided to go back to my garmin etrex and use with map and compass .
