|
|
Hi,
I've just updated my map to V835.2419, and copied the PGPSW files into the new map folder from my old map backup. As usual, I had to "manage POIs" and select "warn when near" to reload the speed cameras.
I get the page which asks for the distance for the warning, input the distance and then get the page with the various sound options.
I tick the "Sound Effect" button and then press "Done", only to revert back to the distance page. If I try again it just repeats as above.
On those warnings without .OGG files, selecting "sound effect" and "done" moves me onto the various gongs etc. Only on those with .OGG files do I get dumped back into the distance page.
App is 8.351
Any advice? |

It works fine on my 720 with the same app and map.
Have you tried a reset? I remember having a similar problem some time ago after I'd inadvertently made a wrong selection, and it was only after a reset that I could get back to the correct route for selecting the ogg file. _________________ Anita

1/ Make sure the ogg files are actually loaded to the correct map folder.
2/ If you have the pMobile files installed don't configure these for warnings until you have done all the proper cameras - Mike |

1. Yes I tried resetting a few times but to no avail.
2. The .OGG files are all in the same map folder as the ov and bmp files. I just block copied them all over from the back-up map folder.
3. I don't have warnings for any mobile cameras. There are just too many locations around here and I would get false alarms every journey. |

Have you tried deleting the ogg files you copied from the backup and downloading a fresh set from the website?
Or you could try using the alternative method described by Andy_P here _________________ Anita

Silly question first. Have you been for a drive with it.
I had one a while ago that would only let me select the TomTom sounds but when i hit the road it used the OGG files. Can't remember which TomTom it was though.

Been off-line for a bit... struggling with DIY and my son's virus-infested PC (not this one thankfully!) |

When the screen ask you if this is the sound you want click yes, you cannot test it with ogg files, and if you untick (only when on route box,) the voice sounds will give warnings wherever you go, with or without a route installed, also when doing a route demo, but you need to have a GPS signal if doing it indoors. Hope this is some help. |

You can test it if you use the alternative method

but you will get more false warnings for cameras on other nearby roads.

I've never needed a GPS signal to run a demo route with warnings. |
