What was once the 'Rules of the road' became 'Law' and now everything I read about it has become a 'Crime'.

It's also now a 'Crime' to drop litter, it's a 'Crime' to not clean up after your dog, it's a 'Crime to put your bin out too early or not take it in early enough. All of which will probably get you a fixed penalty £60 fine, but get caught with cannabis and you'll be let off twice before being taken to Court, even then a slapped wrist would probably be in order.

This is where the 'Law' (Rules) have become a farce. The whole system needs to be looked at, as does speed limits, especially the 'national speed limit' where often 30mph would be more appropriate.

The above is a bit Off Topic but is flashing your headlights, to warn others of a 'speed trap', really a 'Crime'? It's not hurting anyone, in fact by flashing and slowing down oncoming vehicles it could be preventing an accident.

That being said, I don't flash at anyone when there's a mobile about, the only time I flash is when I've been overtaken by a large vehicle to let him/her know they're clear. I guess that's a 'Crime' and I'm a criminal. Sad

They seem to use the thumb pointing downwards in our area ???

I thought they are called safety cameras does it matter as long as traffic is slowed down !! the sad part of it is a motorist who has just drifted over the limit may get caught the the real dangerous driver will only get caught by putting police vehicles on the road !!

How many car do you see on the road with faulty headlights or rear lights

To be honest nobody objects to cameras that are there for real safety purposes but if they are put there just to raise revenue that's different

I remember a breakfast presenter on a radio station in Berkshire who was banned from mentioned speed traps or traffic censuses in road reports so called them "farces". He was never challenged!
