And RouteBuddy (see front page link) allows upload of map files to the iPhone via a built-in server facility in the app! No reason why a similar set-up couldn't permit install of POIs for a Turn-by-Turn nav app. _________________ Darren Griffin |

And POI Warner allows the download/update of camera data! Works really well.
I'm hoping the forthcoming PGPSW speed (sorry safety) camera app will do similarly. _________________ Alan - iPhone 5 64GB, with CamerAlert, TomTom Europe & CoPilot

Ah, I think I probably misunderstood, not you.
Interesting that you have an issue with Co-Pilot. My 3G with its 11 month old battery (heavily used) doesn't show a decline at all - in fact I remember for a fact last week getting to the car almost empty, running Co-Pilot for about 3 hours and finishing with a full battery.
I mentioned all this as I read a review elsewhere that indicated that TomTom+iPod = battery drain when externally powered!
Good luck on the way home!! _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek! |

A US user also reports that the app (or gps?) will not work with at least some 3rd party charging docks. What's odd is if it's in the dock but not powered, it works fine. Powered and it's a no-go. In this case it was specifically the Belkin TuneBase FM. The poster has used it everyday with no problems until trying to run the TT app. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Hmmmm... that would allow subscribers to pay a small additional sum to own the application, but still benefit from their subscription status... What we need is for some kind person to write a application which will copy our poi files from the data folder for photos to the appropriate data folder for the application. _________________ Please follow me on twitter @mdyson1968 |

Now that would be kind!

Hard to say since the TT app has only been out for a day. Last I knew the TT app had 3.5 stars (in the US), so some of the other mobile competitors are rated a little higher, at least for now. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Well that was interesting - started out at 94% and ended at 94%... so it looks like the power from the car adaptor is just enough to cover the TomTom usage but not to recharge aswell..... |
